Sewing Specialist

Bij Airworks ontwerpen en produceren we opblaasbare decorstukken voor wereldberoemde artiesten. Van iconische muziektours en gigantische festivals tot internationale theaterproducties en sportevenementen: onze creaties trekken wereldwijd de aandacht. 

 

Voor ons groeiende Sewing Team zijn wij op zoek naar enthousiaste Sewing Specialists die ons productieteam in Amsterdam willen versterken. Werk je graag met je handen, ben je trots op hoogwaardig naaiwerk en vind je het leuk om mee te werken aan ambitieuze creatieve projecten? Dan maken we graag kennis met je. 

 

Wat ga je doen? 

Als Sewing Specialist ben je verantwoordelijk voor het nauwkeurig naaien van grootschalige, op maat ontworpen textielpatronen volgens technische tekeningen. 

 

Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit: 

  • Het naaien van patroondelen op industriële naaimachines volgens werkinstructies en technische specificaties. 

  • Het samenstellen van opblaasbare constructies en andere textiele producten. 

  • Het voorbereiden, sorteren en organiseren van patroondelen. 

  • Het uitvoeren van kwaliteitscontroles tijdens en na productie. 

  • Het ondersteunen bij tests van nieuwe inflatables. 

  • Het deelnemen aan project- en productieoverleggen. 

  • Het schoon, georganiseerd en veilig houden van de studio. 

  • Het uitvoeren van onderhoud aan naaimachines.

As a Sewing Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our production team, focusing on the hands-on assembly of large, intricate fabric structures. You’ll collaborate closely with other sewing team members and report directly to our Sewing Leads, ensuring every piece meets our high standards of quality and precision. 


Your main responsibilities:  

  • Sew large-scale, custom-designed fabric patterns with accuracy and consistency 

  • Operate and care for a variety of industrial sewing machines 

  • Work with technical fabrics, specialty textiles, and printed materials 

  • Follow guidance and instructions from Sewing Leads and project documentation 

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary production team to meet project deadlines 

  • Support and coordinate with freelance seamsters/seamstresses during high-volume periods 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace

Wie ben jij? 

Je bent een nauwkeurige maker en je bent trots op je vak. Je houdt van afwisselend werk, denkt praktisch en werkt graag samen aan bijzondere projecten. 

 

Daarnaast beschik je over: 

  • MBO werk- en denkniveau. 

  • Een opleiding of achtergrond in mode, textiel, theaterkostuums, stoffering of een vergelijkbaar vakgebied. 

  • Meerdere jaren ervaring met industriële naaimachines. 

  • Ervaring met complexe patronen en constructies. 

  • Een zelfstandige werkhouding en een sterk verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel. 

  • Een scherp oog voor kwaliteit en afwerking.

Who We’re Looking For?  

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial or professional sewing, or completion of certified training 

  • Comfortable using industrial sewing machines and basic maintenance 

  • A team player who communicates clearly and works well in a collaborative environment 

  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and craftsmanship 

  • Able to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities on fast-paced projects 

  • Enthusiastic about working in a creative, international studio environment
